Two Cohorts to Quarantine - 3.2.21

On February 28 and March 2, 2021 respectively, 9-R was notified by San Juan Basin Public Health (SJBPH) that a cohort went into quarantine from Park Elementary due to a positive case of COVID-19. Additionally, a cohort had to quarantine at Fort Lewis Mesa Elementary due to an individual exhibiting severe symptoms of COVID-19. A. The school and the district are working proactively with the SJBPH to make the appropriate notifications and next steps for those who may have been in close contact with this individual.

9-R Weekly COVID Response Summary - 2.26.21

This week our community continues to remain in yellow on the COVID-19 dial for our region. These fluctuations are the reason the district will not move on its Return to In-Person Learning Matrix until 14 days of steady community transmission rates, as well as personnel availability remains stable.

For this week of February 22, 2021, seven (7) cohorts, six (6) at Durango High School and one (1) at Park Elementary, were put into quarantine.

DHS Cohorts to Quarantine - 2.23.21

On February 23, 2021, 9-R was notified by San Juan Basin Public Health (SJBPH) that two individuals at Durango High School tested positive for COVID-19, causing two cohorts to quarantine. The school and the district are working proactively with the SJBPH to make the appropriate notifications and next steps for those who may have been in close contact with this individual.

DHS Cohort Senior C to Quarantine - 2.22.21

On February 22, 2021, 9-R was notified by San Juan Basin Public Health (SJBPH) that an individual in a cohort at Durango High School is exhibiting severe symptoms COVID-19, causing the cohort to quarantine. The school and the district are working proactively with the SJBPH to make the appropriate notifications and next steps for those who may have been in close contact with this individual.

9-R Shared School Cohorts to Quarantine- 2.21.21

On February 21, 2021, 9-R was notified by San Juan Basin Public Health (SJBPH) that individuals in cohorts at Shared School at Miller Middle School tested positive for COVID-19, affecting three cohorts. The school and the district are working proactively with the SJBPH to make the appropriate notifications and next steps for those who may have been in close contact with this individual.

9-R Board of Education Update on Superintendent Search - 2/19/21

The 9-R school board used stakeholder feedback gained through our December survey as well as our focus group feedback to narrow our applicant pool for the superintendent position from 26 to 10. We have arranged to speak with the 10 candidates next week. Each candidate will be meeting with 2 board members. The meetings will be recorded and viewed by all board members. We will then meet again next week to narrow the candidates to 5-7. We have invited a select group of stakeholders representing personnel in our internal system and members of our community, to review the applicants at that point.
